What ends up in your browser

The short version
CashIQ sets no cookies of its own. What it keeps lives in your browser's local storage, which works much the same way but is never attached to a request travelling across the internet.
Advertising does use cookies, and it is the only thing here that does. Nothing advertising-related loads until you have answered the banner, and choosing to decline keeps it switched off entirely — not merely hidden.
What is always stored
These make the site work. There is no version of CashIQ that remembers your theme without storing your theme, so these are not offered as a choice.
cookie-consent
What you chose when asked. Without it you would be asked on every page.
How long: Until you clear it
theme
Light or dark, so the site does not flash the wrong one when it loads.
How long: Until you clear it
player-id
A random identifier made on your device so your finished rounds can be counted together. It contains nothing about you.
How long: Until you clear it
session-token
Proof that you are signed in. Only its hash is stored on our side, so a copy of our database cannot be used to sign in as you.
How long: Deleted when you sign out
player-name
The display name shown on your own screen.
How long: Deleted when you sign out
play-streak, answered-total
How many days in a row you have played and how many questions you have answered.
How long: Until you clear it
recent-questions
The handful you last saw, so a new round does not repeat them straight back at you.
How long: Rolling, last 30 per game
referral-pending
Set only if you arrived through someone's invite link, so it can be credited once you play.
How long: Until the invite is credited

Clearing your browser data removes every one of them. Nothing here is recoverable by us afterwards, including a streak.
What only runs if you agree
Google AdSense serves the adverts and sets its own cookies — used for frequency capping and, depending on your choice and where you are, personalisation. Google acts as an independent controller of that data, and its own privacy policy applies to it.
Google Analytics would record which pages are opened and which games are started, and is not switched on at present. If it is later, it appears here first.
Neither loads before you answer the banner. You can confirm that in your browser's network tab: decline, reload, and no advertising request is made.
Turning off personalised ads
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve adverts based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to CashIQ and other sites on the internet.
You can turn off personalised advertising entirely, and you do not have to ask us to do it:
- Google Ads Settings — turn off personalised advertising from Google across every site that uses it.
- aboutads.info and Network Advertising Initiative — opt out of some or all of the other vendors who may serve adverts here.
- How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps — Google's own account of what it collects when you visit a site like this one.
- Google's advertising technologies and Google's privacy policy — the terms under which Google, not we, holds that data.
Declining advertising in the banner stops it here. These links go further and stop it everywhere, including on sites that never asked.
Changing your mind
Your answer is not final. Reopen the choice at any time and the change applies from that moment — turning advertising off stops any further request being made.
What leaves your device, and who receives it, is set out in the privacy policy. Questions go to support@playcashiq.online.
